Feathered Hook Pack Trip up Big Elk Creek begins at the Big Elk Creek forest service campground in Idaho and meanders up a beautiful canyon brimming with wildflowers, towering trees and scenic views. The short horse ride to fishing camp in Wyoming ensures your private experience and allows you to enjoy the experience to the fullest.

In the spring prepare to swing the long wand into action chasing the elusive Snake River cutthroat trout. The Trout range from 12 to 24 inches and are plentiful. In the fall come and chase the Kokanee up the river as they spawn.
Once you have reached one of the campsites you can settle down and relax. The experienced crew takes care of all the work. They serve hearty meals with all the trimmings that are mouthwatering!
An 8-9 foot fly rod rating a 3-5 weight line is recommended. Two or three extra reel spools with floating and sinking head lines on them. Several tapered leaders of 7-12 feet and extra spools of 3-6 tippet material. We suggest you bring two reels and two rods. Rods should be packed in sturdy tube cases. Reels should be packed inside duffel bag. Hip or chest waders, creel and fishing vest are also important. Include a pair of forceps, nippers and polarized sun glasses.
